A Giant Step Towards UK Police State

When last December the UK's highest court ruled that the UK government's practice of holding foreign terror suspects without trial was unlawful it looked as though the plans for a US style police state in the UK had been dealt a serious blow. Not so though as it appears the UK government is rushing through new legislation that will now apply to it's own citizens as well as foreign nationals. More details here and here.

All it would take for a UK citizen to find themselves falling foul of these new laws is to be labeled a "terror suspect". A very loose term in the wrong hands.

So far from a defeat it looks as though this is another victory for the UK "government" against it's own citizens and one big step towards tyranny.
